Brand & Experience Lab by Lava Labs

Brand system · Prototype validation

SoftMoon

We design experiences that continue through use, memory, and return—not objects made to be consumed once.

SoftMoon is an in-house brand by Lava Labs integrating print, small objects, packaging, and digital interaction into one brand experience. We validate materials, language, use flows, and long-term keeping before developing limited collections and selected collaborations.

  • Paper & Object
  • Physical × Digital
  • Small-batch Study

Experience Architecture

We design every touchpoint through which a brand is experienced.

Discovery, choice, unboxing, use, storage, and return are treated as one continuous system across physical and digital touchpoints.

01

Physical Touchpoint

Print and small objects are designed as the brand's first tangible encounter.

Paper · Object · Material
02

Packaging Journey

Packaging is structured around unboxing, storage, and meaningful reuse.

Unboxing · Storage · Reuse
03

Content System

Photography, language, and graphics communicate the product context consistently.

Photography · Editorial · Visual
04

Digital Continuity

QR and mobile web extend physical products into guidance, records, and ongoing content.

QR · Mobile Web · Archive

Development Collection

Design validation for the first collection.

These are development samples, not finished products for sale. They evaluate material, print, usability, packaging structure, and the digital connection model, with each stage clearly identified.

Design Principles

Three standards guiding every SoftMoon product and content decision

01

Visual coherence

Color, light, spacing, and material follow one system from physical products to digital screens.

02

Clear use value

We validate whether the object supports real actions such as recording, sharing, and keeping.

03

Experience continuity

Product, packaging, photography, language, and web content are designed as one user flow.

SoftMoon Lab

A verifiable process from research to pilot release.

Each idea is managed through observation, hypothesis, prototype, use testing, and documented iteration before informing the next production standard.

01

Print & Paper Systems

We study combinations of color, language, and material through postcards, stickers, cards, and small prints.

  • Postcard
  • Sticker
  • Print
02

Small Objects & Kits

We develop compact kit formats that encourage recording, collecting, and participation.

  • Record
  • Collect
  • Participate
03

Packaging Experience

We design packaging that carries the experience from receiving an object to keeping it.

  • Unboxing
  • Texture
  • Reuse
04

Digital Extension

QR, web pages, and visual content extend the story of a physical product onto the screen.

How We Build

01

Insight & Brief

Define the use context, user problem, and experience criteria the product must satisfy.

02

Prototype & Specification

Translate form, dimensions, materials, print, and digital flow into testable specifications.

03

User Test & QA

Validate usability, readability, storage, accessibility, and the connected journey in context.

04

Pilot Release & Review

Release to a limited audience and carry operational feedback into the next version.

Development Standards

We define the process standard before the output.

01

Concept Brief

Purpose, audience, use context, and core message

02

Material Spec

Material, dimensions, print, packaging, and production details

03

Use Test

Usability, storage, readability, and digital continuity

04

Iteration Log

Feedback, change rationale, and decision history

Now & Next

We make the preparation stage visible.

Timing may change based on quality and test results. Updates will be posted here and through Lava Labs channels.

2026 Q3In progress

Brand System 1.0

Finalize the logo, color, language, and visual standards for products.

2026 Q3Next

Product Specification & Print Test

Produce initial print samples and packaging structures for usability review.

2026 Q4Planned

Small user test

Review use, storage, and digital connection flows with a limited group.

When readyRelease

Limited Pilot Release

Introduce the first fully prepared outcomes with a defined quantity and period.

Launch Updates

Collection releases and pilot participation

We only send updates that require action, including collection releases, pilot recruitment, and limited sales. Subscriber data is used solely for these notices.

Collaboration

Design brand objects and digital touchpoints as one system.

We review concept, art direction, packaging, photography, QR, and web content together so the final experience does not fragment across vendors and channels.

Project Scope

  • Brand & product concept
  • Art direction & packaging
  • Photography & editorial content
  • QR & mobile web extension

Best suited for: small-batch brands, campaigns and exhibitions, content-connected goods, and packaging renewal
